Member-only story
When the shore calls, the ocean needs you.
Warriors jump the ship
Forsake family ties and
Get dumped.
In fields of mud,
they climb mountains to prove
ideas they did not know existed
let alone supported.
Not having read a book
a poem to inspire,
the words of passersby hurt
and transpire truths
charged with the flurry of disease.
Disasters have forgotten to kill
they just displease.
You get flooded by the ocean vampires,
a new belief, they don’t suck blood
they thrill, with news of the great new nation.
It is the first nation.
Greeks and Romans did not exist, Chinese did not philosophise
Egyptians did not engineer and native communities had no medicine.
Bit by bit
it becomes routine
For the mill to grind down
And eradicate until removed
Any plant you grow
Any speech you hear
The philosophy that is your creed
Until you believe
